Purchase: I had been through roughly 6 or 7 saddles since
getting my Paso mare 2 years ago. Nothing seemed to fit and
allow her the wither clearance and should movement that she
needed. If the other saddles did allow that clearance, they
left big dry patches along her back after riding. Then I found
the TAS013-A saddle offered by Tony at Sycamore creek saddles.
I bought it as an in stock, used saddle but he does offer custom
made saddles very reasonably priced via his web site and on
ebay. Needless to say I am VERY well pleased with the saddle
I received. It arrived in 4 days, was well packaged and is a
nice quality saddle. Best yet..... it fits my mare! I paid $350
shipped for my saddle. New ones in the same style are $430 on
his site plus shipping.
Likes: Fits my hard to fit, sway backed, high withered,
narrow shouldered mare perfectly. Quality made real leather
saddle that is designed to allow free shoulder movement needed
by gaited horses.
Dislikes: Nothing I don't like about this saddle.
Quality: Good quality leather, stitching is nice and
even. Seems like a very comfortable and solid saddle.
Summary: For the price, you can't go wrong! I don't know
anywhere else that you can get a custom made saddle for these
prices. Quality leather and craftsmanship and guaranteed by
Tony.
